Motherhood and parenting are difficult, and no one can deny that. There are days that are filled with joy and sunshine, and then there are days when it feels like a dark cloud is hanging over the house. These are tough times, and they can really play on a mom’s mental health.

Mom tries so hard to make sure that her children have everything that they need, and that things work the way they are supposed to. However, there are moments when nothing seems to go right, and this can bring a mom down, but there may be a way to work around it.

There are moments in life, in general, that are out of our control. Worrying about these things can be seen as needless since we cannot do anything about it. This doesn’t stop moms from stressing and worrying about it. However, learning and recognizing what we cannot control and letting go can be the best way to embrace motherhood and live your best mom life.

You Can’t Control Your Child

Discipline

This may be the biggest one that a lot of moms worry about, and that is that you cannot control your child or their behavior. According to Empowering Parents, there is a myth in the parenting world that parents have to “control” their child, and that they are responsible for everything that their child does. While a part of a mom's job is to guide their child to make the best decisions, they cannot completely control their child, and that is because their child is their own person.

All they can do is guide them, and teach them how to handle big feelings and struggles that happen, but they cannot force their child to do anything they don’t want to do. If mom realizes this, she may be able to better handle tantrums and negative behavior.

Interests & Hobbies

This is one that may be hard for a lot of parents to hear, but they cannot control what their child’s interests and hobbies are. It is common for parents to want their child to love a certain sport or activity, but that is not the way it works. According to Swim Swam, if parents want their child to do an activity, but their child does not, there is not much they can do. The child may be forced to do it, but they will likely “fail” and they won’t offer the results the parents want.

Cannot Control Change

This may be the hardest one, but it is one that mom has to get used to, and the moment she does, she will notice that her life goes a bit smoother. According to Elite Daily, you cannot control change, and change will happen. In a home full of children, things are bent on changing very quickly. Mom could have a big event planned, and a child falls ill and derails it all. The quicker mom accepts that change will happen, and she cannot control it, the easier she may find life and parenting.
